  • Alcohol intoxication is associated with unintentional injuries, such as motor-vehicle traffic crashes, falls, drowning, burns and firearm injuries.
  • Most people who ever have an episode of drinking too much tend to do so for the first time by the time they are in their mid teens.
  • How alcohol affects an individual is most often determined by their blood alcohol level (BAC); things that affect a person's BAC may include how strong the concentration of alcohol that they consume is, the rate of consumption, the amount of alcohol that is ingested, and how empty their stomach is when they are drinking.
  • When you look at the various blood alcohol concentration levels, physical alcohol abuse effects include: Inhibitions Are Reduced - Once the person hits a BAC (blood alcohol content) of .05, their change in behavior becomes noticeable. This raises the risks that some of their actions will not be thought out properly. A few examples would be sexual activity, drug use or continued drinking.
